The twelfth movie starts with the Otherworld Tournament. Pichon and Goku are fighting in the finals. A teenage ogre is rocking out to music at the check-in station. His father tells him to change the tanks of negative energy, but forgets to. The tanks burst and the ogre is flooded with negative energy, turning him into the monster, Janemba. He seals off the check-in station and changes the dimensions and dimensional barriers. Hell is linked to Earth, and Goten, Trunks, Videl, and Gohan gather the Dragonballs. They summon Shenron, asking if he could fix the dimensional barriers, but he says it could not be done. He could transport the villains back to hell, but there would be nothing keeping them there. This forces the Great Saiyaman and Videl to fight the newly revived villains. But in the middle of the arena a giant crystal appears. Grand Kai sends them both to investigate, sensing that it was coming from the check-in station. When they get there, King Yemma tells them that he was sealed by the monster on the roof. They climb the now spherical bubble of a roof to find the enormous monster, Janemba. Pichon yells at Janemba, but then sees that he has a childish nature. He then asks Janemba to put the barrier down, and he is hit by Janemba's giant hand. Goku wants to fight him, but Pichon accuses Goku of wanting all of the fun for himself. King Yemma yells, asking if they had forgotten about him. Goku says that Pichon was on the job. Goku then lures Janemba down to hell while Pichon started attacking the barrier that was sealing off the check-in station. When they arrive, Goku is amazed on what Janemba had been doing to the dimensions, making a hell a place with many colorful stones floating around. Janemba attacks Goku in a variety of ways, including creating dozens of miniature Janembas, all a little taller than Goku; opening portals that allow him to punch Goku from afar; and, when Goku fires a Kamehameha Wave, Janemba is able to create another Goku in his hands that fires another Kamehameha Wave towards the real Goku. Goku is fighting an impossible battle as a Super Saiyan 2. He transforms into a Super Saiyan 3, attempting to defeat Janemba. He fires a Super Kamehameha Wave at Janemba. It appears to destroy him, but he is just reformed into the much smaller but much more violent Super Janemba (the "super" part declaring that he is more powerful than his previous form). Back on Earth, Mr. Satan is fighting some zombie like creatures, Goten and Trunks are fighting Adolf Hitler and his army of tanks, and Gohan and Videl are fighting resurrected villains such as Frieza. Pichon gets angry and starts yelling at the barrier for not breaking, and, to his surprise, part of the barrier cracked. Pichon starts yelling at the barrier, slowly digging his way through it. Super Janemba fashions himself a sword out of an ogre club he finds and the ground and starts fighting Goku again. He shortly imprisons Goku in one of the colorful gelatin stones, in this case, red, and he slashes off large chunks at a time to make it slightly larger than the Saiyan himself. Janemba is about to kill Goku when Vegeta arrives and saves his life. Vegeta then transforms into a Super Saiyan 2 and tries to defeat Janemba but fails. Goku, knowing that they could not win on their own separately, suggests doing the Fusion Dance to defeat Super Janemba. At first Vegeta refuses doing the Fusion Dance because it was beneath him and embarrassing. Goku soon persuades him to do it, and they manage to get enough time to do it. While doing the Fusion Dance, Vegeta does not extend his index finger, causing the fusion to be flawed, turning him into Veku, a plump Saiyan with a low power level. The four kais are watching, and South Kai states that instead of a Gogeta, he is more of a Veku, giving him his name. Veku uses (if you could call it using) his clumsiness to avoid Janemba, and Veku is defused into Goku and Vegeta. Goku and Vegeta can not figure out what went wrong until King Kai tells them about Vegeta's finger. Pichon finally breaks the barrier and goes down to hell to assist Goku. Goku again persuades Vegeta to try the Fusion Dance again, but Janemba does not give them enough time to do it. Pichon then arrives and, on the theory that Janemba is composed of the same material that made up the barrier, yells at him, actually causing damage. This gives Goku and Vegeta enough time to do the Fusion Dance succssfully, allowing them to form Gogeta. On Earth, Goten and Trunks sense the powerful fusion of their fathers and decide to do it as well, forming Gotenks. Gotenks then easily destroys Hitler's army with a single Super Ghost Kamikazi Attack. Gogeta starts making short work of Super Janemba. He is then easily killed with Gogeta's attack, the Stardust Breaker. With Janemba defeated, the original teenage ogre returns, and at the sight of Gogeta runs away. With King Yemma freed from his imprisonment, hell is put back into order and the dimensions are put to order. Gogeta then defuses, and Goku is forced to say goodbye to his friend as he is returned to his spirit form without a body. Goten and Trunks say that they saw something. Gohan asks what. Then Goten and Trunks make kissing sounds because they saw Gohan kissing Videl, and an aggravated Gohan along with an embarrassed Videl chase them home to end the twelfth movie.
