The Tree of Might Story

Note: This is based on the Funimation dub of the movie.

At the start of the movie, Gohan; Krillin; Bulma; and Oolong are going camping.  Gohan, bringing a pack that was packed by his mother, Chi-Chi, brought many unnecessary items to the campsite.  Then a spacecraft in space fires something at Earth.  It hits the forest they are camping in and it starts a huge fire.  Goku and Krillin put out the fire with their energies, but the forest is destroyed.  While battling the fire, Gohan finds a cute, light purple dragon like creature.  Gohan saves it, and it likes Gohan.  They decide to gather the Dragonballs to restore the forest.  They eventually collect them and bring them to the forest.  When they summon Shenron, the dragon like creature tries to attack Shenron, but Gohan stops him.  Gohan wishes that the forest be restored.  The forest and all its creatures are brought back, and the dragon creature is pleased.  Gohan names the dragon Icarus.  Icarus decides to stay with Gohan.  While Gohan is taking a bath at his house, Icarus shows up, and Chi-Chi, thinking that Icarus was a monster, tells Gohan to get rid of him.  Gohan is taking him through the forest when Goku calls out to him.  Goku had made a place for Icarus to stay nearby.  In the newly reborn forest, the thing that the spacecraft fired reveals itself as a probe.  The people on the spacecraft see that Earth would be a good environment for the Tree of Might.  It is then revealed that the leader of the ship is a Saiyan.  The tree is planted and starts absorbing the earth's energy, eventually, if unstopped, leaving the planet a baren wasteland.  King Kai senses the Tree of Might and tells Goku, Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu, and Krillin to destroy the tree.  After firing some energy blasts, the tree is unscathed.  Then the aliens attack everyone.  Gohan soon comes on Icarus and saves Chiaotzu.  Everyone besides Goku and Gohan are defeated by the aliens.  Gohan takes out two of the alien fighters, but then Turles, the Saiyan leader of the group who could easily be passed as a dead ringer for Goku, turns his sight on Gohan.  Gohan at first thinks that Turles is his father, but senses that he isn't.  Turles asks Gohan to join him, but when Gohan refuses, Turles tries to kill him, but Gohan is saved by Piccolo.  Turles easily pummels them both, and then Gohan's tail grows back.  Turles creates an artificial moon and throws it into the air.  He holds Gohan up and lets Gohan get in a good eye-full until Gohan is forced into transforming into a Great Ape.  As Gohan starts transforming, Turles creates a cloud that would prevent him from transforming into a Great Ape.  Turles comments that young wild apes are much more violent than the older wild apes (by wild apes, I mean Saiyans that have transformed that do not have control over themselves in their Great Ape form).  Gohan starts attacking Goku, but Goku won't hurt his son too badly.  Gohan is about to crush Goku in his hands when Icarus shows up.  The sight of his friend makes him much more calm, and he just lays on the ground, staring at Icarus.  Turles is angered by this, and he blasts Icarus.  This makes Gohan angry and he attacks Turles.  Turles dodges and fires a ring of energy.  Goku throws a Destructo Disk at Gohan, cutting off his tail, returning him to his normal form, which allows him to go through the hole in the ring.  Then Turles has his henchmen attack Goku while Piccolo fights Turles.  Goku makes quick work of the aliens, killing all of them.  Goku and Turles start fighting, and Goku has the upper hand until Turles eats fruit from the Tree of Might.  The fruit makes Turles stronger, and he now has the upper hand in the fight.  Goku tries attacking him with a Kaioken 20x Kamehameha Wave, but to no avail.  Goku decides to use the Spirit Bomb, and the rest of the Z-fighters try to buy Goku some time by fighting Turles.  While trying to get enough energy for the attack from the living, the Tree of Might had sucked the life out of the planet, Goku can't get enough, and Turles neutralizes the Spirit Bomb with an attack of his own.  Goku staggers over to Turles, and uses the tree's energy to power his Spirit Bomb.  He quickly jumps and throws the Spirit Bomb at Turles.  Turles is driven into the Tree of Might and it explodes, destroying the Saiyan and the tree, returning all the energy to the planet.  There is a happy ending, and the third Dragonball Z movie ends.
