Dead Zone Story

Note: This is based on the Funimation dub of the movie.

This movie begins with Piccolo training by himself in a rocky area.  He is attacked by four robed aliens.  Piccolo is assumed dead, and the leader laughs evilly.  Chi-Chi is cooking dinner and calling for her son, Gohan.  Kami senses that Piccolo is being attacked, and thinks that Goku is attacking him, for he is the only person able to kill Piccolo off the top of Kami's head.  Then Chi-Chi's father, the Ox King, arrives.  He is about to give Gohan a present when he gets a glassy look and falls to the ground.  One of the robed figures from before demands the Dragonball on Gohan's hat.  Gohan is told by Chi-Chi to go into the house, but then another of the figures is on top of the house.  Then another emerges from the house when Gohan tries to go in.  Chi-Chi tries to defend her son, but she knocks unconscious.  Gohan starts running through the forest and starts screaming.  Goku hears this and runs to the house, tugging a large fish behind him.  When he gets there, Chi-Chi tells him that they took Gohan.  Gohan is crying at Garlic Jr.'s fortress.  Garlic Jr., the leader of the group that attacked Piccolo and took Gohan, senses something strange about Gohan and tells him that he is going to train Gohan.  Goku goes to Kame House on Master Roshi's island to get the Dragon Radar so he can find Gohan, then speeds off on his Flying Nimbus.  Gohan is running away from one of Garlic Jr.'s henchmen, and he sees an apple and is reminded that he is hungry.  The henchman tells him not to eat it because they are not meant to be eaten by children.  Gohan eats it anyway, then says that it tastes like apples.  Then Gohan goes tipsy, and he goes on what I like to call, "The Adventures of the Drunk Half-Saiyan."  Pretty much he has delusions and almost kills himself, like, seven times.  It is assumed that eventually the henchmen gives up and goes back to Garlic Jr.  Garlic Jr. gathers the rest of the Dragonballs and summons Shenron.  He wishes for eternal life, which Shenron grants.  Goku soon arrives and demands that his son be returned to him.  Then Kami arrives and he tells Goku his relation to Garlic Jr.'s father, Garlic.  Then he starts fighting Garlic Jr.  Goku goes to find Gohan, then Garlic tells his henchmen to go after him.  Garlic is pounding Kami, but Kami keeps holding on with energy attacks.  Garlic's henchmen bulk up their muscles and start fighting Goku.  Then Krillin and Piccolo, separately, arrive.  Gohan, high above, peas on Krillin.  Goku tells Krillin to get Gohan while him and Piccolo take care of the three henchmen.  They succeed in killing them, and Krillin eventually gets to Gohan, but then a giant stone pillar falls on his head, rendering him unconscious.  Then a pile of rubble falls on Gohan.  Garlic Jr. transforms and starts fighting Goku and Piccolo.  Neither of them can do much damage to him, and when they think he is down for the count, Piccolo starts fighting Goku.  Garlic Jr. then gets up and opens up the Dead Zone, a swirling vortex of never-ending darkness.  Kami, Goku, Piccolo, and Krillin struggle to avoid being sucked into the void.  Then Krillin remembers Gohan, and worries that he had already been sucked into the Dead Zone.  Gohan then gets up out from under the rubble.  He gets extremely angry and yells, releasing the great amount of sleeping power lying inside of him.  Garlic Jr. is hit by this wave of energy, and is flung into the Dead Zone.  The Dead Zone closes.  Gohan falls, exhausted.  When he wakes up, Gohan has no recollection of what he had done, and he thinks that his father had done it.  Piccolo decides that their fight would have to wait.  Goku and Gohan are flying home on the Flying Nimbus, and Goku wonders if he should tell Gohan and Chi-Chi what Gohan did.  He decides he will tell them someday.  They fly off into the sunset.  This ends the first Dragonball Z movie.
