What is Dragonball Kai and Dragonball Z Kai?

Dragonball Kai and Dragonball Z Kai are just edited versions of the original shows.  These edits include making it shorter, and more kid friendly, making it more appropriate for young children.  They also just edited the colors a tad.  For example, to make it shorter, they deleted the episodes of fake Namek in the beginning of the Namek Saga in Dragonball Z.  They also took the first 39 episodes and got 18 out of it.  They also make it more kid friendly.  When Piccolo fired his Special Beam Cannon at Radits and Goku, in the original show, the blast went through both Goku and Raditz, leaving giant holes through them both.  In the kai version, it went through Radits and just left a giant, purple bruise on Goku body.  Also, they deleted most of the Emperor Pilaf Saga, if not all, because it wasn't kid friendly.
