Note: This is based on the Funimation dub of the movie.
This movie starts with Broly flying to Earth. He is so weak that he can not help getting frozen. He would remain that way for about seven years. Then the years pass, and Goten, Trunks, and Videl are looking for the Dragonballs. After a run in with an army of birds, they retrieve their sixth Dragonball. In their search for the seventh Dragonball, they go to a village that is nearby the Dragonball reading. They soon see a lake that is filled with valuable looking crystals. They are told by the village elder that the village are cursed by a monster. Only the self-proclaimed shamen named Maloja, whom the elder calls the village idiot. Trunks makes a deal that if they rid the village of the monster, they get the shamen's necklace that looks like a Dragonball (I am uncertain whether or not that he knows if it is a Dragonball or not). They set a trap for the monster the next day. They would be hiding in a pot with a lot of food sitting right outside the pot. Trunks gets hungry and reaches outside of the pot and grabs some food. Goten is about to do the same when Videl says no. Goten starts crying, begging for food. Videl eventually gives in and gives him an apple. Trunks tells him that Goten was faking, which annoys Videl greatly. A giant dinosaur comes up and after a little bit of fooling around, they fly through him. Goten and Trunks take the dead dinosaur to the village, and the village eats the dinosaur for dinner. Goten's cries eventually reach the frozen Broly. He relates this to Goku's crying the day he and Broly were born. He gets so angry that he is able to break free from his icy prison and turn into a Super Saiyan. The next day Videl is awoken early in the morning by an explosion. She goes to investigate and finds Broly. Goten and Trunks wake up and soon go after Videl. Videl starts fighting Broly, but Broly isn't even trying. Trunks and Goten try to interrupt the fight, but when Broly sees Goten, he remembers Goku because of Goten resemblance to his father. Then they have one of the funniest conversations, in my opinion, in all Dragonball. "Kakarot!" "Kakarot? What is a Kakarot? Is it a vegetable? I hate vegetables!" Broly starts fighting the boys, mainly because he had mistaken Goten for Goku, but he still does not even break a sweat. During the fighting, Goten spots the final Dragonball. Trunks tries to distract Broly while Goten tries to retrieve it. I say try because right after he grabs it, he breaks a wooden fence that was holding light blue crystal balls. Trunks now needs to distract Broly longer without dying. Far away, Gohan senses trouble. He starts flying to the outbursts of energy. Goten gets the last Dragonball and goes behind a waterfall to summon Shenron so that Broly would not see him. For some peculiar reason, when Goten tries to summon Shenron, he does not appear. With what seems like there last hope gone, Gohan comes their rescue. Gohan tells Goten and Trunks about Broly and what happened in Broly The Legendary Super Saiyan. Then he starts fighting Broly. Now Broly thinks that Gohan is Goku and starts fighting him. Videl eventually arrives. With Gohan and Broly dead even, Broly fires an energy blast at Goten, Trunks, and Videl. Gohan tries to save them, but he fails, and the others are damaged beyond fighting capacity. Gohan turns into a Super Saiyan to fight Broly. With Broly losing to Gohan, he transforms into his Legendary Super Saiyan form. Broly is now more powerful than Gohan, and Gohan is soon beaten down back to his original form. A little bit later, Gohan is about to die when Krillin comes and saves him. Broly then surprises Krillin and knocks him out with one blow, sticking him inside of a rock formation. Later, Broly is strangling Gohan, but Videl comes through and throws a crystal at Broly, distracting him long enough for him to escape from Broly's grip. Then a little dialog happens (the only reason I bring up the dialog is that it includes the only line that Broly has that is not Kakarot in this movie). Gohan transforms back into a Super Saiyan, and he fires a Super Kamehameha Wave at Broly, but Broly counters with an energy ball. Goten then turns into a Super Saiyan and joins his brother in the Kamehameha Wave, contributing his remaining energy. However, Broly still has more power. Goten wishes that his father was there to help them, and apparently Shenron was listening without the need to be summoned (perhaps because Goten had already tried to summon him earlier). Then Goku appears as a ghostly form with the halo above him. He turns into a Super Saiyan and fires a Kamehameha Wave to help his sons. After a little bit of a power struggle, it seems Broly is going to win. Trunks fires a ki blast at Broly, which distracts him enough so that the three can defeat him. Broly is killed. Goku returns to Otherworld, the Dragonballs are scattered, and Videl yells at Gohan for not helping her in her battle with Broly. The tenth movie ends with Krillin asking a stupid question.
